‘Unwritten‘ is back in the German top 10 charts
Almost 20 years after its release, Natasha Bedingfield’s iconic hit ‘Unwritten‘ has reached a new top position in the German charts: the song is currently at number 7, surpassing its original chart position after its release in 2004 (#22). The song is currently being streamed worldwide over 3 million times daily.
The reason for the hit’s resurrection is its presence in the romantic comedy movie “Anyone but you“, which is currently number one in the German cinema charts. “I’ve had songs in films before, but this time I like that the song has been used in such a special way that it makes you happy. People even sing it when they leave the cinema,” states the artist.
Bedingfield, who is one of VH1’s “100 Greatest Women in Music”, has sold over 10 million albums and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” category. The album “Unwritten” achieved gold status in the US and triple platinum in the UK.
