A&R Coordinator / Assistant (m/f/x), Continental Europe & Africa
Berlin HQ, fulltime, starting February 2025, permanent contract)
Sony Music Continental Europe and Africa works with a wide range of artists including Purple Disco Machine, Lost Frequencies, Måneskin, Gyakie, James Arthur, Jain, Oxlade, 1Da Banton, and many others. We are currently seeking an A&R Coordinator / Assistant (f/m/x) to join the team in Berlin.
Your role
Music Research & Talent Discovery
- Research and analyze music trends, emerging artists, and new releases across various platforms (e.g., Spotify, TikTok, YouTube, SoundCloud).
- Monitor industry charts, playlists, and social media for potential talent.
- Assist in compiling detailed reports on prospective artists and songwriters, including audience engagement and performance data.
- Maintain and update an artist discovery database for the A&R team.
Coordination & Support
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, studio sessions, and listening sessions for the A&R team.
- Communicate with artists, producers, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Manage and update project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.
Expenses & Financial Management
- Book, Track and process A&R-related expenses, including travel, studio sessions, and promotional activities.
- Prepare expense reports and ensure all costs align with the allocated budget.
- Liaise with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices.
Administrative Tasks
- Organize and maintain A&R files, including contracts, agreements, and demo submissions.
- Respond to inquiries and demo submissions professionally and efficiently.
- Provide general administrative support to the A&R team as needed.
Your profile
- Strong passion for music with knowledge of repertoire and culture from the region and eager to understand the industry’s structure and business models.
- A proactive and reliable team player, capable of handling sensitive information.
- Highly organized, structured with attention to detail who can multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
- Flexible and quick in adapting since priorities can frequently change.
- Excellent administrative skills & verbal and written communication skills.
- Engaging and sociable personality.
- No stranger to International time zones and considerate when dealing with multiple stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds.
- Fluent in English (German and any other language optional)
